About Professor
David Groves:

David Goves
Professor Groves has spent over 30 years as a lecturer to professor at the University of Western Australia, the last 17 years as a Director of Research Centres in Economic Geology, the precursors to the current Centre for Exploration Targeting where he is now Emeritus Professor. During his academic career, David has co-authored over 500 publications and supervised over 200 PhD, MSc and BSc Honours students. He has been awarded several medals for his research and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. Since retirement, David has served on the Boards or acted as a Consultant to several junior exploration companies, using his geological experience of mineral deposits on all continents and the conceptual targeting methodologies he helped to develop. Throughout his career, he has perfected the art of presenting information at a level that is understandable and interesting to both geological and non-specialist audiences.

Before you invest in a mineral exploration company, ask some pertinent questions which will help you determine the accuracy of the news you have just read:

Who do you have in management that has the type of technical expertise required to see the project through to completion?
2.
Have your projections (grade, tonnes, production forecasts, cash costs, time frame, etc.) been verified independently by a "Qualified Person"?
3.
Do you have a technical report that verifies what you are saying about your mineral project?
4.
What are the milestones to achieve what you are saying about your mineral project?
5.
What are the expected costs and time frame to achieve these milestones? How are you going to raise the funds needed?
6.
What are the underlying obligations that have to be met in order to retain ownership in the property? Are any of these going to be difficult to achieve?
7.
What are the risks for failure? What are you doing to minimize those risks?
8.
Have other companies worked on this project and then abandoned it? What makes you think you will have more success?
9.
Have you achieved your previous forecasts in terms of exploration and development of this project? If not why will you know?
10.
How much money have you raised for this project and how much of that has ben put in the ground?
